Each month I pull oracle cards to tune into the energy of the current lunar cycle. This 3-card reading reveals the energy of the lunar cycle that is now unfolding from March 18 to April 15. Together, the cards show the bigger picture of this lunar cycle’s theme – Yang.

Card 1: Power of My Voice

The first card, “Power of My Voice”, directs where our masculine energy needs to focus on this lunar cycle – our voice. When we think of Yang, or masculine energy, we tend to associate it with doing and action. And yes, this lunar cycle will be a month of action. But it’s not about doing things on autopilot; it’s about taking soul-aligned actions.

Taking soul-aligned actions begins with speaking our truth and expressing our authentic selves with confidence. With the beginning of an astrological new year on March 20 and the end of Mercury retrograde, it’s time to translate our visions into action.

Part of that journey is communicating our visions, ideas, and dreams through our voice: through writing, speaking, singing, and sounds.

What do you feel called to speak or write about?

Start by communicating with your inner self first. Listen to your inner guidance. What is your intuition telling you? As we strengthen our relationship with our inner guidance system, we will find that we have more confidence and clarity when we engage and communicate with the outer world.

Card 2: Align Your Life

Part of the lesson of speaking our truth and expressing our voice is also learning to release what no longer aligns with who we are becoming, as shown in the second card, “Align Your Life”. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are constantly shifting into newer versions of ourselves.

We may find ourselves outgrowing certain beliefs, behaviors, attitudes, relationships, or even dreams. The ways we used to do things, or what we used to enjoy, may begin to change. At first we may feel resistance, and that is okay. That is human nature.

Meet your resistance. Feel it. Observe it. Acknowledge it, and then allow yourself to accept the change.

In my personal life, I used to enjoy teaching a couple of workshops and classes, such as kirtan and mantra meditation. If you’ve been following my newsletter for a while, you would know about my journey with the practice of Bhakti Yoga. I truly enjoyed sharing this practice with others.

While mantra and mudra meditation are still part of my own daily practice, I began to notice that I wasn’t as excited as I used to be when it came to teaching it. Even so, I kept these classes on Museflower’s wellness activity schedule. I thought that if someone signed up, I could simply push myself to practice more.

Recently, a friend whom I hadn’t seen for 15 years came to visit me at Museflower. He decided to sign up for the mantra and mudra meditation workshop that was listed on the wellness activity schedule, and I found myself cringing internally. There was like a sinking feeling in my stomach.

I asked my friend if he would change the class to cacao medicine instead, since I felt more excited to share that with him. My friend was open and agreed to the change, and that was when I had a big realization.

Yes, I used to enjoy teaching mantra and mudra meditation workshops and kirtan classes. But all the signs — the feeling of needing to force myself to practice, the internal cringing, and the sinking feeling in my stomach — were red flags telling me that something had changed.

Teaching these classes no longer sparked the same joy it used to.

A part of me didn’t want to give up teaching these classes though. I remembered how passionate I felt about sharing these practices and how they helped me through the pandemic and during some rocky times in my marriage.

But if I were being honest with myself, life has changed since then. Look at the world now. We are no longer in the pandemic, and the way I view my husband and my relationship has also evolved as part of my healing journey.

If I were to borrow the “spark joy” idea from Marie Kondo, we can see that this concept applies not only to physical objects, but also to the actions in our lives. It was time for me to let go of something that once felt 100% aligned, but no longer felt aligned with the current version of me, and the next version of who I am becoming.

Thanks to my friend who signed up for the class, I was able to see this clearly. It was like a mirror showing me what I needed to acknowledge. Finally, I said goodbye to teaching those classes. And perhaps it’s just a phase. Maybe I will feel called to share them again in the future.

This is what I mean by releasing what no longer aligns with you. It’s not just for the current version of you, but think of who you want to become, who you dream to be. What used to align 100% doesn’t mean that it still resonates or feels the same anymore.

Releasing what no longer aligns is one way we take soul-aligned actions. When we declutter on an energetic level, we can hold space in our mind and heart for something new.

Card 3: Dog Spirit (Reversed)

The gift for this lunar cycle, which is the “Dog Spirit” card in reverse position, reminds us that our loyalty should always lie with unconditional love and self-love. The message of the card says it clearly: “loyalty to people and situations can turn into attachment that results in stagnation, enmeshment, and loss of integrity.”

This echoes the message of the second card “Align Your Life”. Love can change form.

Just as I chose to stop teaching the mantra and mudra meditation workshops and kirtan classes. I am still loyal to these practices, but at this stage of my life I no longer feel called to share them in the same way I did before. In fact, once I made that decision, I felt a sense of relief. The pressure lifted, and I could simply enjoy these practices again for what they are — part of my own personal growth.

 Self-Care for this Lunar Cycle

Self-care card: 42. Read and 43. Rest
Card Deck: The Sacred Self-Care Oracle by Jill Pyle

The sacred self-care cards for this lunar cycle are “Read” and “Rest” — two cards that popped up together.

I feel that both of these practices are invitations for us to slow down and nourish our inner Yin, or feminine energy. As we expand our energy outward through expressing our voice, we are also being invited to return to our center through quiet, nourishing practices like reading and resting.

This is a beautiful lunar cycle supporting you in building an even stronger foundation of trust in your inner authority and inner knowing.

You can absolutely embody the person you have always dreamed to be.

Be bold during this lunar cycle, and take that leap of faith to speak and act with more confidence, peace, and ease.

 Reflections for this Lunar Cycle

I invite you to take an honest inventory of your life right now and notice which areas no longer feel fully aligned. Simply stay curious and open. You may not yet know how to release or change those things, and that is okay.

Pose the question to the Universe, and trust that guidance will come at the right time.

 Affirmation for this Lunar Cycle
I trust the power of my voice.

You may wish to repeat this affirmation during this lunar cycle whenever you need a reminder of your inner strength.

An Invitation to Trust Your Intuition

I recognize that my interpretation of the cards is shaped by my own personal experiences, and you may or may not resonate with everything I share. I find that sometimes by sharing what is unfolding in my life, others may find that they are going through something similar. It’s important to remember that you are not alone on this journey.

I highly encourage you to take a moment to look at the cards yourself and feel into the messages and energies they carry.

Notice what sensations arise in your body. Do you feel light or tense? What elements in the images draw your attention? What thoughts or emotions arise as you observe the cards? Do you feel drawn to or repelled by certain symbols or colors? What might that be reflecting for you?

Your intuition is your inner compass. My oracle card reading is simply an invitation for you to reflect, ponder, and explore what these messages might mean in your own life.

I do not claim to predict the future. Take what resonates with you and leave what does not.

Card reading is a great intuitive tool to help us find clarity and guidance, but ultimately you are the one who gets to decide and create the life you want to live.

If you feel called to deepen this reflection, you may also enjoy pulling a card for yourself from my free online oracle cards.
