This 3-card reading shows the energy of the lunar cycle that is unfolding. Together, the cards reveal the bigger picture of this lunar cycle’s theme Fierce.

When we think of “fierce,” we tend to associate this word with a lot of fiery energy. It is a word filled with strength and fearlessness. But the card that reflects the key lesson of this lunar cycle is “Drum Medicine — Regulation.”

This card speaks about how the sound of a drum helps us remember to return to the sound of our heartbeat — this inner drumbeat that we are all born with. As we return to listening to the sound of our heartbeat, our whole system begins to relax.

So, to be “fierce,” we must begin from a place of feeling grounded.

We may have a lot of inspirations coming through that spark our creativity, and we may want to keep moving and doing, to manifest these ideas into reality.

Alternatively, we may recognize the need to fiercely protect our energy and our boundaries — to let go of what drains us, and to stop following expectations from society and rules that other people make up. This is a time to fiercely stand firm on our own path, knowing what pace is right for us in this season.

The “Drum Medicine” card reminds us to stay grounded and to relax no matter what. Especially with the chaos and uncertainty happening in the world, it can be easy to lock ourselves into fear. Our nervous system may flip into sympathetic mode — the fight / flight / freeze response.

It’s wonderful that more people are now aware of how the nervous system functions and what the term “regulated” means, for both children and adults. Practices such as breathing, meditation, walks in nature, massage, and yoga are all proven to help regulate the nervous system and support us in the parasympathetic, or rest-and-digest, mode.

So, return to balance during this lunar cycle. Stay informed about what’s happening in the world, but there is no need to listen to the news 24/7. It only makes us feel more helpless, powerless and hopeless because it feels like there isn’t anything we can do personally to help the world.

And even though we may not be able to create immediate changes in worldly situations, we can help ourselves and those around us by staying calm and regulated.

This leads us to the next card for this lunar cycle — “When the Birds Sing Grat-it-tude.” This card reminds us of the practice of gratitude. Practice gratitude for what has happened in your day over the last 24 hours. You can write it down in your journal, share it with your family, or say it to yourself in prayer — which is such a beautiful way to end the evening.

Science has shown that practicing gratitude can regulate our nervous system. It can alter neural structures in the brain, helping us feel happier and more resilient, while also boosting our immunity.

Another aspect of gratitude is learning to say thank you before anything happens. Practice saying thank you to the Universe, your spiritual support team, or whatever you call the bigger presence that surrounds us, before your dreams and desires come true. This practice helps us see the beauty in the ordinary and the sacred in everyday life. We don’t need to receive anything in order to say thank you. Simply being alive is already a blessing we can be grateful for. Gratitude keeps us in awe and connected to the energy of miracles.

As we stay regulated and continue the practice of gratitude, this lunar cycle then offers us the gift of “Self-Belief” — the key component of being fierce.

The message of this card says it all:
“Self-belief is the magic key that opens up a better, more inspired future for me.”

Self-belief means being fierce in tending to our inner world. It means actively turning down the voice of the inner critic and our doubts, and choosing instead to listen to our heart’s calling — and to intentionally act upon our soul’s guidance.

Self-belief is not about repeating empty affirmations and hoping things will magically change. Affirmations require us to take a leap of faith and truly believe that they are possible for us.

Self-belief is being your own best cheerleader. It is having faith that you can do anything your soul desires. And even if the outcome is not what you expected, you will have learned something valuable about yourself.

Self-care card: 50. Sweet Treat
Card Deck: The Sacred Self-Care Oracle by Jill Pyle

The sacred self-care card for this lunar cycle is “Sweet Treat.” There is no coincidence that I felt called to make chocolate chip cookies for my kids today. This card is a reminder that life is sweet. A sweet treat is an invitation to remember the sweetness of life.

I love this reminder because being fierce can sometimes feel like the opposite of being sweet. How about we practice fierceness in creating more sweetness in our lives — appreciating our loved ones, giving a hug or a smile, being kind to a stranger, or treating ourselves that require no reason and bear no guilt?

Where in your life are you being called to practice fierceness?
Is it saying no to what drains you?
Is it protecting your sacred time so you can rest properly?
Is it taking a leap of faith and following your heart’s guidance?
Or is it allowing yourself to receive more sweetness in life?

Whatever it is, know that I am always rooting for you, and the Universe is always supporting you.

 Affirmation for this Lunar Cycle

I am fierce in believing in myself.

REMEMBER TO TAP INTO YOUR INTUITION

I recognize that my interpretation of the cards is largely based on reflections of my personal life experience and you may or may not resonate with what I share. I find that sometimes by sharing what’s going on in my life, others may find that they are going through something similar in their lives. It’s important to know that you are not going through this journey of life alone.

I highly encourage you to look at the cards as well and feel into the messages and energies of the cards yourself.

Read the messages and notice what sensations come up. Do you feel light or tense? Look at the images of the cards, and notice what draws your gaze. What thoughts and feelings arise? Do you like or dislike the card, or certain elements in the image of the card? Why is that and what does it remind you of?

Your intuition is your inner compass. My oracle card reading only serves as a reference point, an invitation for you to reflect and ponder and to work your magic. I don’t claim to predict the future, nor can I do that. Take what you resonate and leave what you don’t.

Card reading is a great intuitive tool for us to find some clarity and guidance in our own life, but remember ultimately you are the one who get to decide and live the life you want.
