WHAT IS THE KEY MESSAGE FOR THIS LUNAR CYCLE?

Card Deck: Soulful Woman Guidance Cards by Shushann Movsessian & Gemma Summers (left) and
The Sacred Self-Care Oracle by Jill Pyle (right)

Main Card: 39. Princess Charming – I take the horse by the reins and become my own Princess Charming, taking care of my own needs.

Supporting card: 51. Sync with the Moon

It definitely feels like we are now coming out of the cosmic season of change, and this lunar cycle is time to recall our power.

Containment of energy is the first feeling I get when I look at this lunar cycle’s card “Princess Charming”. In the last two months, there may be a lot of rearrangement of energies going on in our lives. This may show up as decluttering our physical space, saying goodbye to relationships, or adjusting to a new environment or routine. Old deep wounds may have surfaced and it is because we are ready for healing another layer and becoming a better version of ourselves.

A lot of times, things happen outside of our control that make us feel powerless.  But in this lunar cycle we are reminded that we are powerful beings, and we must remember that our light is enough to transform the darkness that is around us.

This card reminds us to take matters into our own hands. Instead of waiting for other people to change, or the world to behave the way we wish, what can we do in our own lives to hold the light, and to be the light?

Perhaps it’s taking a tiny step towards healing your broken heart. Perhaps it’s taking a giant leap towards manifesting your dream into the physical world.

Recently I attended an online business coaching workshop, and the business mentor Sally emphasized that clarity comes from engagement, not from thinking. Sometimes we feel lost or stuck is not because we don’t know what to do, but it’s because of fear. The fear of not feeling good enough. The fear of making a wrong choice. The fear of disappointment and failure.

Sally pointed out that we wouldn’t know the answer if we never took action. Clarity comes from doing. When we readjust our goal to be “getting it done and out” instead of “getting it right and perfect”, we remove ourselves from blocking our own path.

Albert Einstein once said “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” It doesn’t mean that we don’t stop to rest and honor our emotions and inner rhythm. But what this card points out is that we must make the decision ourselves and take an action.

Instead of waiting for the right timing, the right circumstances, or the right people to make us happy, we must create time in order to bring joy to ourselves. After all, if you have seen the movie “Inside Out”, the emotion Joy is just inside our brain (you won’t find her outside).

As we take our happiness into our own hands, we become our own Prince and Princess Charming. We are no longer waiting for someone to rescue us. We are stronger than we think.

If you feel angry with what’s happening around you, remember the emotion anger is not wrong or bad. The emotion anger is an invitation for change. Anger invites us to look at what we need to change in our own lives, in order to recall our power.

I wrote a blog recently on Museflower’s website called “How to Lift Yourself Up from Feeling Angry to Awesome” inspired by my own anger towards my son. Two days after writing the blog, I exploded in anger again. It got me thinking, what was underneath my anger?

With deep reflection, I noticed that it was a huge amount of resentment building up. I felt that I was always giving my time and energy to my family and my business, and I took care of myself last.

I am very good at booking massages for my husband, booking swimming classes for my kids, booking holidays for my family, but when it comes to me, I won’t allow myself to relax until my work is done – which is never ending. I am always waiting for the right timing, the right circumstances.

My anger invited me to change. And I know it’s time to do something for myself. So with the help and support of my family, I signed up for a cacao ceremony training retreat in Italy by my teacher Serap end of May. This is a very big deal for me. The last time I went to a training retreat overseas was in 2012 when I went to Peru and I knew two other people who were going with me. That was before I was married and I had kids.

I only travelled without my family last year for the first time for a 4-day-3-night friends’ trip in Japan. So to be gone for one whole week is huge for me. It took me a couple days to work out the logistics with all the voices in my head – the voice of my heart which urged me to go, and the voice of my fear which told me to stay. But I knew in my heart I wanted to do this for myself so badly. I decided to sign up and now I’m very excited of what this adventure will unfold for me.

This is what I meant by taking matters into our own hands. Of course it’s also because my kids are slightly older now and I have my family who can take care of them when I’m away. Having the courage to sign up for a solo retreat overseas has opened up new neural pathways for me. I saw another leadership summit in Bangkok this coming September with one of my favorite spiritual teachers Gabby Bernstein as a guest speaker, and I signed up right away without even thinking about the logistics in my head this time or asking permission from my family. I know I will be able to work out something with my family and they will be fine without me for a weekend.

The self-care card for this lunar cycle is to sync with the moon. Learning and working with the energies of the moon cycle can really empower our divine feminine energy for both women and men. We are all cyclic beings and in order to live in harmony with our bodies and nature, we must learn to ride with the energies of different nature’s cycles – it can be the moon cycle, our daily circadian rhythm, our hormonal cycle, the seasons of the land, and the cosmic cycles.

For example, when a woman is having her menstruation, it is time to slow down and rest. It’s the inner winter season for women. This is also when her intuition is most heightened and she feels more sensitive with her emotions. In modern society though, women having menstruation feel like they have to have the same energy level as other phases of their cycle in order to keep creating, producing, and ticking off boxes on their to-do list.

But just like people normally wouldn’t go swimming in the cold winter season, skiing, snowboarding or playing with the snow would be more suitable activities to really enjoy what the winter season has to offer. We don’t want to go against our nature, we want to learn how to work with the energies of each phase and season of our cycles to truly live in harmony with our body, mind, heart, soul and Spirit.

One way to understand how we interact with the moon phases  to track our energy level and mood. There are four main phases with the moon cycle, with the new moon as a great time to set new intentions, and the full moon as a time to release what no longer serves us. Using journaling and simple tracking tools can help you understand how you can interact with these different energies.

So pay attention to your heart, your emotions, and your energy level this lunar cycle. They point the way to what you need to do or change in your life in order to take your happiness into your own hands. Have the courage to trust your intuition and act on it. I promise you that the rewards you will reap from taking care of your own needs first will return to you ten thousand fold.

Daily Reflection: Today, I recall my power through ____[insert]____.

Try This Affirmation

I am powerful when I take care of my own needs.

Repeat this affirmation as often as you need during this lunar cycle. A great tip is to write your affirmation on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you can see every day as a reminder.

You can refer to my blog here at Museflower’s webpage on a simple guideline on how to write your own affirmation.

Feel free to change the words to make it 100% aligned to you.

For example,

I call back all my power back to me.

I am the light.

My light is enough.

I live in joy.

I am safe to trust myself more and more.

REMEMBER TO TAP INTO YOUR INTUITION

I recognize that my interpretation of the cards is largely based on reflections of my personal life experience and you may or may not resonate with what I share. I find that sometimes by sharing what’s going on in my life, others may find that they are going through something similar in their lives. It’s important to know that you are not going through this journey of life alone.

I highly encourage you to look at the cards as well and feel into the messages and energies of the cards yourself.

Read the messages and notice what sensations come up. Do you feel light or tense? Look at the images of the cards, and notice what draws your gaze. What thoughts and feelings arise? Do you like or dislike the card, or certain elements in the image of the card? Why is that and what does it remind you of?

Your intuition is your inner compass. My oracle card reading only serves as a reference point, an invitation for you to reflect and ponder and to work your magic. I don’t claim to predict the future, nor can I do that. Take what you resonate and leave what you don’t.

Card reading is a great intuitive tool for us to find some clarity and guidance in our own life, but remember ultimately you are the one who get to decide and live the life you want.

Enjoy reading and feel free to let me know your thoughts, questions and sharing by email.
