WHAT IS THE KEY MESSAGE FOR THIS LUNAR CYCLE?

Card Deck: Soulful Woman Guidance Cards by Shushann Movsessian & Gemma Summers

39. Princess Charming – I take the horse by the reins and become my own Princess Charming, taking care of my own needs.

In this lunar cycle, we are reminded that we are the co-creator of our own lives, and it is time to step up and claim this creator power within us.

The woman in this card exudes confidence in her eyes and she knows what she’s doing and where’s she heading.

When we connect our creator power with this lunar cycle’s theme “Play”, it is an important reminder for all of us not just to remember but to prioritize our solo creative play time.

We all know how unstructured, free play time is important for children’s development in many aspects. But we seem to forget that as we grow up and become “serious” adults. We tell ourselves that duties come first. We must finish our work before we can allow ourselves to play and relax. Perhaps the phrase “work hard, play hard” may ring a bell?

We talk a lot about self-care these days. And self-care is all about doing what nourishes and nurtures you. One thing that nurtures our inner child is to let ourselves play creatively and freely.

Time is always precious, and the more “grown-up” we become, it seems that we have less and less time for ourselves. Instead, we need time to work, time to reply emails and messages, time to run errands, time with our children, time with our partners, time with our parents, time with friends, time to do our spiritual practice, time to sleep, time to eat, time to chill and watch Netflix and time to sleep. These are all great ways to spend our time, but do you give time for your inner child to come out to play too?

I love what Julia Cameron wrote in her book “The Artist’s Way” about an essential tool to get your creativity flowing and she called it “The Artist Date”.

The Artist Date is scheduling a block of time, for example 2 hours a week, to just spend quality time with your inner artist, just like how we would spend quality time with our loved ones. But the Artist Date is only for you and your inner artist and not with someone else.

To me, the Artist Date is equivalent to creative play time for ourselves. And this does not involve scrolling Facebook feed or watching Youtube. This is about listening to what your inner artist (aka your inner child) wants to do, and follows his / her guidance.  And then go do it, even though it may not serve any purpose financially .

It is definitely a difficult practice for me to get started on personally. I grew up believing that I needed to work first before I could relax to play.

Even though it is not necessary a “bad” thing, I can see now that by doing so, I am telling myself that my work is more important than my personal needs and self-care. And so, creative play time comes last, or pretty much non-existent in my adult life.

We are always told that “time is money”. In a way, it is true. Yet I’ll say that time is even more than money. Time is sacred. There are only a finite amount of hours per day. How you choose to spend your time reflects on how you are creating your life, moment by moment.

When we say we value ourselves and that we are worthy, do we invest our time back into ourselves? Do you find time for your Artist Date, even it may be just 30 minutes a week?

This is when we need to take the horse by the reins, and be our own hero and heroine. This is the month to prioritize creative play time and to set our boundaries, to fiercely protect our sacred time to be with our inner artist.

Have you always been wanting to visit a local museum? Have you always wanted to take up that pottery class? Have you always wanted to take a walk in nature all by yourself?

Then go do it. This month is all about listening to your inner artist, and going along with how he/she wants to play.

Daily Reflection: Today my play time is to ___________.

PS: I highly recommend reading “The Artist’s Way: a Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity” by Julia Cameron, even if you don’t consider yourself as an artist. Because living is an art. To me, this book is all about reclaiming your creative power, and your creative power is the same as your creator power – to envision, to create and to live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Try This Affirmation
I allow myself to let loose in play.

Repeat this affirmation as often as you need during this lunar cycle. A great tip is to write your affirmation on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you can see every day as a reminder.

You can refer to my blog here at Museflower’s webpage on a simple guideline on how to write your own affirmation.

Feel free to change the words to make it 100% aligned to you.

For example,

I acknowledge myself as a creator.

Creative play is important for my soul.

I prioritize play time in my life.

I nurture my inner artist.

My inner artist and I know how to have fun and play.

REMEMBER TO TAP INTO YOUR INTUITION

I recognize that my interpretation of the cards is largely based on reflections of my personal life experience and you may or may not resonate with what I share. I find that sometimes by sharing what’s going on in my life, others may find that they are going through something similar in their lives. It’s important to know that you are not going through this journey of life alone.

I highly encourage you to look at the cards as well and feel into the messages and energies of the cards yourself.

Read the messages and notice what sensations come up. Do you feel light or tense? Look at the images of the cards, and notice what draws your gaze. What thoughts and feelings arise? Do you like or dislike the card, or certain elements in the image of the card? Why is that and what does it remind you of?

Your intuition is your inner compass. My intuitive soul card reading only serves as a reference point, an invitation for you to reflect and ponder and to work your magic. I don’t claim to predict the future, nor can I do that. Take what you resonate and leave what you don’t.

Card reading is a great intuitive tool for us to find some clarity and guidance in our own life, but remember ultimately you are the one who get to decide and live the life you want.

Enjoy reading and feel free to let me know your thoughts, questions and sharing by email.
