WHAT IS THE KEY MESSAGE FOR THIS LUNAR CYCLE?

Card Deck: The Sacred Medicine Oracle by Asha Frost

8. Ancestral Love – Tending

In this lunar cycle, we are reminded that our ancestors are here to support us, and they hold us with love and tenderness.

For some people, connecting with ancestors may be a foreign concept, and for some, honoring ancestors is very much embedded in their cultural practice.

Every April, there is a festival in Hong Kong called Ching Ming festival, which is a day to remember, pray and honor our ancestors. People go to cemeteries, clean up the tombstones and offer food, incense, flowers, and their respect through bowing and prayers.

Even though these are cultural-specific practices, we can also honor and connect with our ancestors in our own unique way.

For example, every day in my morning meditation practice I invoke the blessings of my spiritual support team which includes my ancestors. At night I pray to my ancestors, and beloved ones who passed away for protection and guidance.

Many years ago, I witnessed first-hand the healing power of connecting with our ancestors in a family constellations workshop facilitated at Museflower. Through witnessing and participating in family constellation sessions, I realized that there was a lot of healing in acknowledging the pain and burdens that our ancestors carried, asking for their blessings to release their burdens, and connecting with the love that our ancestors had for us. In the sessions we would imagine our ancestors standing behind us, putting their hands on our shoulders and passing on their love, strength, wisdom and gifts to us. Just as every parent would want the best for their child, our ancestors only want what is best for us.

Our ancestors may show up in our lives through songs, dreams, special numbers, and synchronicities, reminding us that they are watching over us and that we can lean onto them for energetic support.

So it comes to the theme of this lunar cycle – song. The song we are to hear is the song of our ancestors. There is power and wisdom from every lineage that we come from, and it gives us strength to move on with our lives knowing that our ancestors are here to support us, and know that we are never alone in our journey.

Personally I always pray to my dad who passed to help and support me, especially during times when I feel I’m all alone, or when I have to do everything by myself. Sometimes when I’m chanting, I can feel the presence of my dad with me, singing along side with me. That’s when I can feel an overflowing of love all around me and it touches my heart deeply.

If you’ve never connected with your ancestors before, this lunar cycle invitates you to do so. There is no right way to do it, just follow your heart and intuition. Perhaps it’s just a prayer. Perhaps it’s visiting their grave. Perhaps it’s placing a photo of your ancestors in your home or on your altar. Perhaps it’s diving deep into your family tree, or listening to stories about your ancestors.

Whatever way that you decide to connect with your ancestors, call upon them with love. Ask them for support and guidance, and feel their overflowing love and strength pouring into your heart.

Our ancestors’ song is our song. What medicine is your ancestors calling you to remember this lunar cycle?

Daily Reflection: Today, I connect with my ancestors through  ____________.

Try This Affirmation
I listen to my ancestors’ song.

Repeat this affirmation as often as you need during this lunar cycle. A great tip is to write your affirmation on a piece of paper and place it somewhere you can see every day as a reminder.

You can refer to my blog here at Museflower’s webpage on a simple guideline on how to write your own affirmation.

Feel free to change the words to make it 100% aligned to you.

For example,

My ancestors support me.

I am held by my ancestors.

I feel connected with my ancestors.

My ancestors give me strength.

My ancestors are guiding me.

REMEMBER TO TAP INTO YOUR INTUITION

I recognize that my interpretation of the cards is largely based on reflections of my personal life experience and you may or may not resonate with what I share. I find that sometimes by sharing what’s going on in my life, others may find that they are going through something similar in their lives. It’s important to know that you are not going through this journey of life alone.

I highly encourage you to look at the cards as well and feel into the messages and energies of the cards yourself.

Read the messages and notice what sensations come up. Do you feel light or tense? Look at the images of the cards, and notice what draws your gaze. What thoughts and feelings arise? Do you like or dislike the card, or certain elements in the image of the card? Why is that and what does it remind you of?

Your intuition is your inner compass. My intuitive soul card reading only serves as a reference point, an invitation for you to reflect and ponder and to work your magic. I don’t claim to predict the future, nor can I do that. Take what you resonate and leave what you don’t.

Card reading is a great intuitive tool for us to find some clarity and guidance in our own life, but remember ultimately you are the one who get to decide and live the life you want.

Enjoy reading and feel free to let me know your thoughts, questions and sharing by email.
